Join a group of people for a two week adventure to the island of Sulawesi in Indonesia. There you will have opportunity to see what God is doing in another part of the world, to learn more about effective cross-cultural mission work and to serve and encourage in practical ways.
Flying into the area, we will visit an amazing training campus that will touch your heart with its humble facilities but incredible people. We will experience the kind of conditions much of the world lives in and not take our own affluence for granted so easily again. From there we will travel to a remote tribe, hang out with some amazing missionaries and meet some inspiring Indonesians who will share their stories with you.
As part of the trip there will be:
- Daily devotions
- Chats covering topics like:
‘Culture Shock’, ‘Why Missions?’, ‘What is the Gospel?’, ‘Introducing Jesus to Another Culture (or even our own)’, ‘Teaching the Bible in Another Culture’, ‘Discipleship’, ‘The Goal of Missions’, ‘Introduction to Culture and Language Learning’, ‘Introduction to Teaching Literacy and Bible Translation’, ‘Health Care, Community Development and Social Justice Issues’, ‘Local Religions’, ‘Teamwork’ and more.
- An extra trip to a remote tribal location where missionaries are working and team participants can rub shoulders with missionaries and tribal people. You'll be inspired by what God has been doing in the lives of the people there.
- Fun activities such as discovering more about Indonesian culture by playing ‘The Amazing Adventure’ following clues around a city, visiting a local church and sharing relational team time – e.g. a day out snorkelling, shopping and relaxing.
The stories you will hear will encourage and challenge you. The things you will see will blow your mind. This trip is a space for people to think and learn about God, the world and themselves. It’ll be an unforgettable experience that will stay with team members forever.
