Responsibilities:
In general: Accountable for all aspects of funds that pass through or are used by NTM Mozambique. Responsible for the timely and accurate upkeep of all financial records and communication of financial data and information to team and others within NTM. More specifically: make entries into NTM's proprietary accounting system, Fulfill transaction requests for our missionary families, balance the books, payables, receivables, manage cash and checkbooks, provide regular financial reports to field leadership, handle wire transfers, liaise between NTM entities as needed, etc. This is a part time role.

Desired work experience: bookkeeping and accounting experience in a professional setting.
Skills:
Desirable knowledge, skills, and abilities: working knowledge of basic accounting terminology, principles, and theories; bookkeeping, accounts payable, basic accounting, basic computer skills; attention to details, be accurate with numbers, good organizer. Must speak Portuguese.
Comments:
As our Finance Coordinator you will live in a fairly modern city and you will work with people from a variety of cultures including Mozambicans. Our finance system and processes are pretty simple, we don't need an accountant but accountants are welcome. We will provide training on the accounting software. Because the management of our finances requires only part time attention, there are opportunities to take on a variety of administrative tasks, technology tasks, personnel tasks, or other tasks in and outside the office based on your skills and interests. There may also be opportunity to participate in Portuguese lessons, but they are geared towards those who already have a fair degree of fluency. If you desire, you will have many opportunities to interact with Mozambican believers and unbelievers and build relationships that will lead to ministry opportunities outside the office. You will have the ability to spend almost as much time as you like becoming integrated with the culture.
