Purpose:
NTM AVIATION PERSONNEL PLAY AN IMPORTANT ROLE ON THE CHURCH PLANTING TEAM by providing safe, efficient, and cost-effective missionary aviation support for church planting teams. They also play an active role in the spiritual encouragement of missionary co-workers and the indigenous church.
The Aircraft Electrical, Instrument and Radio Technician (EIR) maintains the Electrical, Instrument and Radio systems in all NTM Aviation PNG aircraft.
Responsibilities:
1) Conduct scheduled aircraft electrical, instrument and radio inspections as required. 2) Perform system tests and calibrations to verify performance and accuracy of navigation systems. 3) Troubleshoot and repair equipment/system anomalies in any of the electrical, instrument and radio systems. 4) Maintain the Electrical, Instrument and Radio shop at the hangar 5) Help with general Aircraft Maintenance from time to time if needed 6) May be called upon to help bush missionaries with their radio equipment and antennas from time to time.

It would be helpful to have an Australian, New Zealand, Great Britain or Canadian LAME License, but not required.
We are looking for someone with a minimum of 4 years experience.
Skills:
Background should include extensive training and experience in the operation and maintenance of aircraft electrical, instrument and radio equipment and systems, or an equivalent type of background. He will be required to obtain the necessary PNG avionics licenses as soon as practical.
Comments:
If the radio technician / EIR comes fully trained and licensed from Australia, New Zealand, Great Britain or Canada, the minimum duration would be 4 years.
If coming from elsewhere, we would prefer a career commitment because it takes several years to be fully trained in PNG.
If coming as a career missionary, it may be a requirement to go through some missionary training at an NTM Missionary Training Centre and it may also be a requirement to spend some time at our Aviation Headquarters at McNeal Arizona in the USA.
This ministry is located near the NTM PNG field headquarters which has a community of over 250 people. Located in the mountains of Papua New Guinea and with an elevation of over 5,000 feet, the climate is spring-like year round. Many ministries are located at this center; including the school for missionary children, flight program, medical and dental clinics and other support ministries.
